Houses

The system of having four Houses has been designed to encourage and enhance healthy competition among students and to create a healthy growing environment. This leads each student of the House to constantly perform and strive to be better. This system inculcates leadership opportunities and loyalty to their houses in students.

Together, the members of the Houses and the badge holders execute the day-to-day activities of the school. Assembly activities, festive celebrations , days of national/International importance are planned and executed in an interesting and effective manner both on the notice boards and on stage. Team building and effective leadership qualities are inculcated in the process with the encouraging guidance of the teachers. The four Houses represent the school:

ABNEGATION – Selfless- The definition of ABNEGATION is the act of self sacrificing by giving up your own interests.

CANDOR – Honest – Definition of CANDOR the state or quality of being frank, open, and sincere in speech or expression

DAUNTLESS – Fearless – The DAUNTLESS knight decided to do battle with the dragon within its own lair, fearing neither its flame nor its fang.

ERUDITE – Intelligent – Definition of ERUDITE having or showing profound knowledge.

FACILITIES:

SMS Service through Mobile Phones:

Important and urgent information will be communicated to the Parents/Guardians in the form of SMS (Messages) to their mobile phones.
The Messages may be in English and / or Tamil as per the features available in the Mobile Phones used by the Parents /Guardians.
All Parents and Guardians are requested to check these. SMS (Messages) whenever received & act accordingly/ immediately in the best interest of their Child.
But the Parents or Guardians cannot send any reply SMS Messages to School since there is No technical provision available in this plan.
Through this process, time and energy can be saved for both the Parents and Guardians; Communication gap from the School can also be avoided.
The School is paying to a private Company for this facility on a monthly basis for all Students.

Transport:

Charges for transport are in accordance with the distance. This is reviewed from time to time and charges are subject to change, depending on the prevailing fuel prices. All the buses have fulfilled Government regulation standards. Trained drivers and helpers are provided for every bus for the safety of students. The transport service is safe and secure and will pick and drop students at specified stops only. Speed Governor is installed in all the buses and vans. This facility may not be available for students of class IX to XII.

GPS Alert:

All the buses and vans of our school are being equipped with GPS from the academic year 2015-16 to provide safety and security to students and to respond faster to emergencies. SMS facility is also made available to notify the arrival of the bus at the specific stop to avoid long waiting hours at the bus stop.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

Digital Video Cameras have been installed at different vantage points in the School Campus which will record everything that happens without any break. Due to this system the unwanted entry by any anti- social elements can be checked. The coverage can be played back later at any point
of time to find out whether anything wrong has happened without the knowledge of the School Staff.

Public Address System:

Speakers of reputed brand with microphone have been fixed in all the class rooms. Through this system the students of every individual classroom can be contacted by the Principal for making any important announcement without disturbing other classes.

Library :

Every student of our school is a member of our school library. So during their leisure time they are advised to make use of library to enhance their reading habit. About 6 science magazines, 25 children magazines and many dailies of multiple languages are being subscribed. There are about 10000+ books representing various titles are adorning the book shelves. Book issues happening regularly and the students are given maximum two weeks time to return the books. Previous month magazines are also given for home reading.

The library is helping the children to carry out their book based activities like book review, open book tests and so on. Dailies and other magazines are helping them to do their projects, seminars, report writing and debates. Students are encouraged to submit articles for class wise monthly magazines.

Canteen:

Reputed caterers are engaged to prepare healthy, hygienic and tasty food outside the school campus and bring the same and supply to Children for reasonable payment. Care will be taken to ensure the quality, quantity and rates of the food items. For lunch the Children can pay the amount in the morning itself and during lunch time the lunch will be delivered to them. The norms laid down by the Govt. Departments viz. Educational, Revenue and Health will be adhered to.

LABS:

Chemistry Lab

The Chemistry lab is well equipped and has all the modern equipment’s and apparatus needed for pursuing higher courses.

Physics lab

The Physics lab has many electronic gadgets and appliances which carter to the needs of the higher secondary students in accordance with the new syllabus.

Biology lab

The Biology lab has an array of specimen and models to help those interested in biomedical courses and biotechnology.

Computer lab:

A state- of the art Computer labs have been set up for our students. This lab allows our teachers to incorporate technology into their lessons. The Higher Secondary lab caters to the Computer syllabus outlined by the Department of Education.

Smart Class:

We have invested in the new age technology, a digital initiative ‘Edu comp Smart Class’. Many of the class rooms are equipped with projector and interactive boards connected through a central server. Teachers make use of these audio – visual resources effectively, thus enabling them to instantly assess and evaluate their students.

Thulir Lab

To enhance the language proficiency among children as well as to develop their listening skills, Elite school has a well-equipped Thulir lab with latest software that contains all the tools to improve the native accent learning process and students respond to it well.

Robotics Lab

Robotics at ELITE School – Integrated curriculum

We are proud to have exclusive ROBOTICS LAB at our school with state of the art infrastructure. Our Technical partner has developed a progressive series of robotics based curriculum aligned with mathematics and science, primarily to teach robotics as a co-curricular activity subject. This curriculum will enhance and empower the understanding of the main stream subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Right from the elementary to middle school levels, there is a need and call for integrated learning programs that allow teachers to engage students in a more creative and meaningful ways whilst also meeting the present rigorous academic standards.

Robotics Lab enables the students to learn the basic fundamentals of robotic technology and thereby to develop their own versatile robots based on their creativity. We encourage interaction and individual ideas rather than a stereotypic group activity. This gives an edge for students to have a better understanding and learning of an emerging technology and thereby providing an interesting learning experience.

Montessori Lab

Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.

Every material in a Montessori classroom supports an aspect of child development, creating a match between the child’s natural interests and the available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace. They can respond at any moment to the natural curiosities that exist in all humans and build a solid foundation for life-long learning.

EXTRA- CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

CLUBS:
Patriotic Club:

In this club, we have been able to acquire knowledge about ourselves, our school and our country. Through the club, we acknowledge for instance, that we need peace and unity in school, we need to help those in need, promote sanitation and nationalism amongst our students and staff. Surely, all this has been achieved.

Quiz Club:

The Quiz Club of Elite has been training students in quizzing. Quiz enthusiasts from class VI on wards join the club to enhance their skill.

Heritage Club:

This club aims at educating the students about respecting and protecting our Heritage. To inculcate values of safe-guarding property is essential in this age.

Social Club:

To care for the social wellbeing and bring out the spirit of Joy of sharing, caring and giving, the club collects useful articles during Christmas for needy people.

Science Club:

The Science Club is the place for students who are interested in science to learn about all scopes of science from medicine to chemistry to physics to the environment. We discuss how to use this conceptual basis for applications in the real life. Trips are taken to museums, aquariums, and state parks. Science Club is a successful approach that integrates high quality, hands-on instruction with a deep commitment to serving our community. Relationships are at the core of our approach- between kids and mentors, teachers and scientists, the university and community organizations.

Tamil Club:

Students learn to appreciate Tamil history and culture well through this club. These activities are well integrated with the curriculum to help students in higher academic achievements. Tamil being one of the world’s leading language in the literature count, these kind of club activities will be fun and also educating. These kinds of initiatives will definitely bring in the interest towards the language and the great literature in the language.

English Club:

The English Club aims to promote the use of English and to provide pupils with opportunities to use English purposefully. Its activities are pupil-centered and often involve pupils’ participation in external competitions, making the learning experience both fun, dynamic and authentic.

Math Club:

Math Club is functioning from 2010 onwards. The main idea is to develop the analytical skill and logical thinking, to inculcate interest in Math, to remove Math phobia, to bring out the hidden talents of the children and to create competitive spirit in children. We have a separate site which provides numerous activities based on math which can be downloaded and worked out.

Road Safety Patrol:

The Road Safety Patrol is a service to mankind that ensures an accident free life. Road safety knowledge is useful in our day to day life as it relates to the safety on roads as every one of us use the road in our daily life in some form or other.

The idea of school students helping the police to regulate traffic was mooted by the fact that it was not possible to depute a police officer for each and every school.

The RSP cadets are the medium through which the road safety education is disseminated to the society. They learn the road safety rules and practice them for their safety and also for the fellow beings. A trained RSP cadet knows the dangers of road and by his conduct prevents accidents as he has a commitment to the society as the motto of RSP is “We Live to Serve”.

Student’s council:

Student’s council consists of SPL (Boy & Girl) ASPL, House Captains, and ViceCaptains, Cultural Secretaries, Even Managers, Middle and Primary Representatives. They are a valuable link with students and staff.

Choir Class:

“Music is God’s gift to man, the only art of heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to heaven”- Walter Savage Landor. Napoleon Bonaparte “Music is the voice that tells us that the human race is greater than it knows” Our School choir is wonderful ensembles of talented singers who enlighten school Assemblies in other school functions.
They often take part in inter –school competitions and have always bagged prizes and won accolades for their perfect harmony and wonderful music. They also sing during Christmas and at other functions in the school.
